Steve Gunderson is an actor, singer, composer, arranger, and playwright. Born in San Diego, he studied in London and spent 15 years in New York before settling in Los Angeles.

Steve co-wrote, starred in, and was the musical arranger for Off Broadway's Suds, which has gone on to have dozens of productions worldwide. He co-created (with Kathy Najimy), arranged, and starred in Off Broadway's critically acclaimed Back to Bacharach & David, which was revived in Hollywood with the participation of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Steve's show, Everybody's Talkin': The Music of Harry Nilsson (co-created with Javier Velasco) starring Tony Award winners Alice Ripley & Gregory Jbara had its world premiere in May 2015 at San Diego Rep Theatre.

Acting credits include His Girl Friday (directed by Christopher Ashley), The Nightingale (directed by Moises Kaufman) and Memphis at La Jolla Playhouse; Hadrian VII, A Trip to Chinatown, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas (directed by Jack O'Brien) at the Old Globe Theatre; Detroit (directed by Sam Woodhouse), David Mamet's Romance, Christopher Durang's Miss Witherspoon, and Hairspray (Craig Noel Award/San Diego Critics Circle Winner) at San Diego Rep; Birds of a Feather (directed by James Vasquez) at Diversionary Theatre; The Fabulous Lipitones (directed by John Markus) at the Colony Theatre; An Ideal Husband and You Can't Take It With You (directed by Kerry Meads) at Lambs Players Theatre; Dirty Blonde, Parade (directed by Sean Murray) and Sweeney Todd at Cygnet Theatre, Ben Franklin in 1776 (directed by Nick DeGruccio) at Cabrillo Music Theatre; Into the Woods at New Village Arts; the National Tour of The Grapes of Wrath with Ed Harris; 8(battling it out with opposing attorney Richard Dreyfuss) at the Birch Theatre; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (directed by David Engel) at the Welk Resort Theatre; Baby at North Coast Rep; Butley and Street Scene (Off Broadway); as well as major roles at Pasadena Playhouse, Laguna Playhouse, La Mirada Theatre, The Canon Theatre, and the Alliance Theatre.

For over two years he played "Sparky" in Off Broadway's Forever Plaid (directed by Stuart Ross), and logged in over a thousand performances of the role in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego.

Steve did multiple voices on King of the Hill and (The New) Beavis & Butthead.
